This video features Sally Aitken, University of British Columbia, a Featured Speaker presenting “Informing conservation decision making for new climates with genetic data: lessons from widespread tree species,” on November 15, during the second day of the two-day BSA Virtual Symposium on Climate Change: Plant Resilience and Conservation for a Changing Climate.
The BSA Virtual Symposium on Climate Change was a free global event open to the public, with the following goals:
-Build connections between botanical scientists, agencies with varying degrees of botanical expertise, and policymakers.
-Address the effects of climate change on flora.
-Identify future needed research paths and collaborations.
-Steer greater public awareness of the importance of plants in mitigating
and adapting to climate change.
-Promote plant literacy to better understand this challenging issue.
