Kurukshetra Panorama & Science Centre, Kurukshetra Overview:-
Kurukshetra Panorama & Science Centre was established to explain the role of science in the traditional Indian religion. Interactive and functional exhibits of technology merging with the culture are displayed at the centre including the legendary battle of Kurukshetra in a life-like panorama. This is where one can get in-depth knowledge on the concepts of matter and their properties utilised in ancient India along with their scientific justifications.
Panorama Science Museum was set up by the National Council of Science Museums. It is a beautiful circular shaped building adjacent to Sri Krishna Museum and a few hundred meters away from Brahma Sarovar. The aim behind this museum is to promote science as a play rather than theory that can only be memorised by rote. One can always see school groups visiting the museum or participating in various camps. They also organize various competitions such as science dramas, debates, extempore talks, and quizes.
These galleries explain tough concepts with the help of simple and interactive models. In other words, this museum is the perfect example of learn while playing. Inside the museum, concepts of simple harmonic motion, reflection, air pressure, human body, geometry, arithmetic, space, etc. have been explained in a comprehensive way, with the help of small to medium-sized models. The entire top floor is dedicated to the war whose story is explained with the help of paintings and dioramas, with some chants of Geeta and Mahabharata dialogues in the background. There is also a big science park that has huge models as compared to those inside the museum. In the park, they explain the concept of circular motion, centre of gravity, echo, weight balancing, and theory of relativity with the help of swings and fun rides. After visiting this museum, you'll definitely think that this place could have made science easier for you in school days.
