Shoot and scoot

The M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (M270 MLRS) is an armoured, self-propelled, multiple rocket launcher that gives NATO the ability to conduct quick, long-range precision strikes to defend Allied territory

Without leaving the cab, the crew of three - driver, gunner, and section chief - can fire up to twelve rockets in less than 60 seconds

Conducting fire missions and then quickly moving to cover limits vulnerability to counter fire, a principle known as “shoot and scoot”

The highly-mobile system can be transported by train or certain transporter aircraft and is able to drive in rough terrain, with a road speed of over 60 km/h
