4.Bongos, timbales, tom-toms and bass drum: In Joseph Schwantner’s percussion concerto, the soloist uses these instruments in a very interesting way. These instruments are all combined together to create almost a drum-set like instrument. The bongos are the highest pitched instrument followed by the timbales, tom-toms and finally the bass drum.
