This video help you to learn easily about major stages of evolution of money in tamil. Money is something that is generally accepted as medium of exchange. Money is anything which is widely accepted in payment for goods or in discharge of other business obligations.
Evolution of this stage has not happened overnight. It took thousands of years to reach such a stage.
Major Stages of Evolution of Money:
1. Commodity Money
2. Metallic Money
3. Paper Money
4. Credit Money
5. Near Money
Commodity Money:
Exchanging goods for goods. Goods like furs, skins, salt, rice, wheat, utensils, weapons etc. were commonly used as money.
Metalic Money:
Metals such as Gold, Silver, Copper were used. They could be easily handled and their quantity can be easily ascertained.
Paper Money:
Paper money is regulated and controlled by Central Bank of India. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) was formally set up in 1935 to issue Government of India notes.
Credit Money:
It performs the same as functions of money.People deposits their cash with bank. Cheque is a document that orders bank to pay a specific amount from a person’s account to the person in whose name the cheque has been issued.
Near Money:
Near money are not cash. Assets can easily be converted into cash.

Bills of exchange
Treasury Bills
Bonds
Debentures
Savings Certificate etc.
