Master Sooraj was the little boy sketched by this wax-skinned actress in her childhood during 1960's. Sarika is a famous Indian actress, who had appeared in buckets of Bollywood movies. The classic beauty was born on June 3, 1962 in New Delhi as Sarika Thakur. She was born in a Delhi-based Marathi family.
Sarika acted in various low-budget and children's films at the initial stage of her career. Gradually, Sarika shifted her base towards better movies with Rajshri Productions Pvt. Ltd.. She was seen in the film 'Geet Gata Chal' (1975) with Marathi actor Sachin. She appeared with Sachin in many Hindi and Marathi movies.

Sarika met eminent Tamil star Kamal Haasan at the time of their movie 'Karishmaa' in 1984. In 1980's, Sarika's westernized looks earned her roles of modern characters in the movies. Sarika got married to Kamal Haasan and they are proud parents of two daughters, Akshara Haasan and Shruti Haasan. The actress was on a great height of her career, when she tied the knot. After marriage, Sarika shifted to Chennai and left her acting career. Reportedly, the couple had a split in the year 2002.
After separation from Kamal Haasan, Sarika re-appeared on the big screen with 'Sacred Evil - A True Story' (2006). The film could not do well at the box-office. Sarika was seen playing the role of Ipsita Roy in that movie. The performance of Sarika in 'Parzania' (2005) was well-received and brought her a lot of praise in the form of National Film Award for Best Actress. The costume design skills of the actress were appreciated in the movie 'Hey Ram' in the year 2000. This talent of the actress fetched her National Film Award for Best Costume Design. The gorgeous lady also featured in two Marathi movies titled 'Paradh' (1977) and 'Kaccha Limbu' (2009).
In the film 'Bheja Fry' (2007), Sarika played the role of Sheetal Thadani. In her next film, 'Manorama Six Feet Under' (2007), she enacted a minor but prominent role. She also starred in 'Shoebite' (2010) opposite Amitabh Bachchan.
