Spend Christmas in Copenhagen Denmark! I loved visiting the Danish Christmas Markets and enjoying the winter Hygge culture.
Here are all my best tips on where to go and what to do in Copenhagen in the winter, including tour recommendations, budgeting tips, and where to visit Christmas Markets.
How to Get to Copenhagen City Center from the Airport:
Head to the DSB ticketing area and buy a city pass, small ticket, which last 120 hours or 5 days.
The small ticket is enough to get you to and from the airport as well as around the main city sites. It costs 300 Danish Krone, or 44 USD.
Where to Stay in Copenhagen
I recommend staying in the Meatpacking District at Hotel Scandic Kodbyen ➡️ [ Ссылка ]
This area has plenty of great restaurants and bars, as well as being located right next to a train station.
The average price per night in Copenhagen is around 100 USD for a good hotel with amenities.
Where to Eat in Copenhagen
- Smagsloget ➡️ a Danish sandwich shop
- Magasin du Nord ➡️ a food court in a mall with warm drinks and a great place to warm up
- Huks Fluks
You should factor in another 60-80 USD per day for food and drinks, since they are on the pricier side.
If there is a popular restaurant that you really want to go to, make sure to book a reservation well in advance.
What Tour to Go on in Copenhagen
- The Politically Incorrect Tours
This was our favorite part of the trip! It's a free walking tour run by stand-up comedians who have a deep understanding of the history of the city.

- Feel the Danish Hygge & Happiness Tour on Airbnb
A walking and food tour (pastries and warm treats), including a trip to the Royal Stables.
Make sure to bring a warm jacket, hat, and gloves since this tour is mostly outdoors.
Where to Buy the Best Winter Clothes in Copenhagen
66 North ➡️ an Icelandic brand that is both warm and stylish, while also caring for the environment.
Where to Go to the Christmas Markets
The King's New Square ➡️ Make sure to try Danish mulled wine, which comes with little nuts and berries
