Amber Kammer is probably best remembered as Tracy Peverell in The Man in Room 17 (1966), but by 1973 she seems to of hit rock bottom when she - like so many stars in the 1970's - appeared in one of those saucy UK comedies that were the only things keeping the British Film Industry afloat. Telling the story of two women frustrated by their husbands, they book into a 'health farm' that helps them get in tune with their body in more ways than one, as it turns out. It was also the first time that Amber Kammer had appeared nude in a film - not surprisingly it was the only time she did so!
Originally called Sex Farm, the title clearly frightened the censors, as it was pulled and re-released the following year as Frustrated Wives, complete with a few cuts. And one scene in particular was this scene, where Amber is called out by her gym instructor (funnily enough called Jim) for early gym workouts. Unfortunately for her, she also has to work out with fellow resident Mr Williams, who is very free with his hands in what is nothing short of sexual harassment. Not that the idiot gym instructor notices, admonishing Amber for preventing Mr Williams from getting on with his exercises, before leading her off to "calm down." Even though this is the edited version, you can understand why it caused such controversy as Mr Williams is nothing more than a creep. For poor Amber, this seems to of been the last straw for her career, as she never appeared on screen after this. What a shame.
