Julia Spatuzzi Felmanas is a professional interpreter and translator. As a Brazilian left-wing activist she has been engaged in denouncing the coup against President Dilma Rousseff and warning about the threat that Jair Bolsonaro represents for Brazil and South America. Under a pseudonym, Mariana Noviello, she writes for some Brazilian-based blogs such as Cafezinho and Opera Mundi and has written articles for English language publications including New Internationalist. She is part of Lula's workers party. She lives in London.
