I can't tell you what a wonderful experience it is to visit this place. Not only is it the most romantic place I've ever been to, it lifts my spirit just being here.
The architecture is like something out of a fairytale and this place has been well looked after.
However, the favourite character in this story is the gardens. It's micro-climate provides the perfect environment for all these wonderful species of plants. The air is clear and clean and the fragrances envelop me like a warm blanket.
The sounds of birds and running water just add to it's mystique. It's even said that in ancient times, when it was still known as the Lunae Mons (Mountain of the Moon) that it served as the hiding place of the goddess Diana, guardian of the hunt, nature and the moon.
Well worth the visit. I would recommend shoulder seasons to visit because the summers are overrun with visitors and tourists. I had no issue finding parking and getting in and was practically there with a handful of other visitors.
