Purana Qila (lit. 'Old Fort') is one of the oldest forts in Delhi, India. Built by the second Mughal Emperor Humayun and Surid Sultan Sher Shah Suri,[1] it is thought by many to be located on the site of the ancient city of Indraprastha.[2] The fort forms the inner citadel of the city of Dinpanah.[3] It is located near the expansive Pragati Maidan exhibition ground and is separated from the Dhyanchand Stadium by the Mathura Road, Delhi.
Purana Quila Lake: Historical Significance: The Purana Qila Lake is not just a scenic spot but also holds historical significance. It is believed to have been originally constructed during the reign of Sher Shah Suri, a 16th-century emperor, who also built the fort.
Entry Fees: ₹ 30 for Indians; ₹ 500 for foreigners; free for children below 15 years
