Harvesting festival is an annual celebration that occurs around the time of the main harvest of a region. This festival typically features feasting, both family and friends, with foods that are drawn from crops that come to maturity during the time of festival around the world.
These sweets were made using harvested new rice, specially Gobindo Bhog variety of rice, Khejur Gur or date palm jaggary, Poira gur (liquid gur), and fresh coconut . They were prepared in large quantities and were share with family, friends and neighbor.
Soru chakli is quite similar to a crepe. It is a thin pancake which is made with rice and urad dal (black gram). So to make it you have to soak the rice and urad dal overnight. Then grind both to make a smooth batter. The batter should be on the thinner side. Each of these pancakes is cooked on mild heat so that it does not become crisp. It should be soft and thin.
It is an easy recipe and takes very less time to cook. So you can make it without any hassle and enjoy with your family.
sajer pitha is like idli, prepared with the batter of rice and urad dal,as same as of the batter of soruchakli,but the batter is thicker than soru chakli, this is a soft and tasty pith a when served with nalen gur.
