You think you might have violated a personal protection order or a PPO. Or you’re sure you violated the PPO. What you should do if you violate a PPO is nothing. At least nothing at the moment. In Michigan, the PPO was requested by someone who doesn't want you near them. The PPO requires action from that someone. Fortunately for you, these people usually don’t do anything. But if these people allege you did even if it’s not true, the court will schedule a hearing. You will be made to explain. If this is found out to be true, the court will hold you in contempt and will exercise several remedies. Jail is always a tempting option. Call your attorney. Explain yourself so your attorney can prepare for that meeting.
