Racism in South Africa has become arguably one of the most defining features of 2016. While initiatives by government departments, Non-Governmental Organisations and civil society to combat racism continue, incidences of racial intolerance tell a different story. Addressing the media in Parliament today, Minister in the Presidency Jeff Radebe said..."South Africans must condemn the detrimental influences such as the racist assault on Rethabile Mlotshwa, which only serves to harm our fellow South Africans, and does not add to Ubuntu of the South African nation". But, what will it take to defeat racism in all its forms?
