In this video we capture LNER A4 Pacific 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley hauling a Steam Dreams excursion from London Kings Cross to York & return via Lincoln Central 2nd March 2024.
We begin the video at Newark Northgate where we capture 60007 speeding through with an amazing doppler whistle from her chime as she makes her way northbound.
After catching her at speeding through Newark we caught an LNER Azuma to our next location at Doncaster where we pass the tour at Retford in Babworth Loop as she takes on water.
We then see the A4 passing through her birthplace of Doncaster where the early tour was held up by a TPE Liverpool Lime Street to Cleethorpes service just before the station to which thankfully the services had cleared by the time the tour got to us and the road was cleared where she would power through on the down fast sounding lovely as she whistles to solute her home town in the pouring rain.
Unfortunately, the shot here isn't the best as I wanted to keep behind the yellow line and not get in anyone's way so annoyingly the fence at the south part of platform 4 does ruin the long shot of her coming but nonetheless, it was a magnificent sight.
A couple of minutes north of Doncaster we see the A4 up to speed once again as if it was never held up in the first place as she storms through the rain making her way to York proving truly how fast A4s are, especially on home territory!
We fast forward around 4 hours later we where see the return leg of the tour with the A4 once again at speed at Burn, near Hambleton as she makes her way southbound towards Doncaster, this time in some stunning late afternoon sunlight to end off the day.
