The Road of Death winds its way as a vital means of connection between La Paz, situated on the Altiplano, and the Amazon basin. Locally known as "el camino de la muerte," the route reaches its highest point at the Col de La Cumbre, towering at 4,700 meters. Over a span of 78 kilometers, the elevation drops to a mere 900 meters. We follow the tale of a community of coca growers who have stretched makeshift cables across the valley, utilizing simple iron wires to transport their cargo to the road. Additionally, we delve into the daily life of a vachero, a truck driver who transports cows from the Amazon basin to La Paz. He embarks on the grueling 25-hour journey without breaks, as any cow casualties result in the driver assuming responsibility.
