Considered one of the greatest timepieces ever made, the Patek Philippe Ref. 2499 is coveted among watch collectors, with some spending years searching for a fresh example to surface on the market. Leading the Hong Kong Watch Auction XII catalogue is such an example.
This Patek Philippe Ref. 2499 from the first series, produced in 1953 in yellow gold with a Wenger case, is one of only 28 examples ever made. Of these, 22 have resurfaced, making this timepiece exceedingly rare.
The present example is the only one known with the original certificate of origin and comes from the descendants of the original owner.
