Tripura, Meghalaya, Nagaland Election Results live updates: The results of Meghalaya assembly elections, Nagaland assembly elections and Tripura assembly elections are being announced today. The elections for Tripura assembly were held on February 16, where 89.95 per cent of the 28.14 lakh voters exercised their franchise. The elections for Meghalaya and Nagaland assemblies were conducted on February 27, 2023. All three exit polls conducted in Tripura indicated that the BJP and its ally, the Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT), would win a majority in the 60-member assembly. However, in the fight between BJP-led alliance and Left-Congress combine, it is the Pradyot Debbarma-led TIPRA Motha that has emerged as an X-factor as the sway of its founder, scion of erstwhile royalty, among a big section of the tribal population.
Nagaland election results:
In Nagaland, the incumbent Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party-BJP alliance is expected to comfortably retain office. In Nagaland, the BJP has already won one seat and its candidate Kazheto Kinimi was re-elected unopposed from the Akuluto assembly constituency after his only opponent and Congress nominee Khekashe Sumi withdrew his candidature.
Meghalaya election results:
Going by all exit poll predictions, Meghalaya is headed for a hung assembly. After exit poll results, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma has already shown his inclination to form a coalition government. Conrad K Sangma said that his party will keep all options open for a style government formation. "We will keep all our options open to form a stable government. We are happy to see the trend is in line as we expected to get more seats than we received last time," said
Sangma.
Rahul Gandhi in Meghalaya:
Continuing his recent trend of not campaigning too seriously in assembly elections, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi held election rally only in Meghalaya and gave a miss to Tripura and Nagaland. At least 6 more assembly elections to happen in 2023. After Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura assembly elections, 6 more state assemblies are set to go for elections in 2023. Karnataka assembly elections are due in May 2023. Then Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram assembly elections will be held toward the end of the 2023. If delimitation exercise is complete, the Jammu and Kashmir can also hold assembly elections in 2023.
