Today on our 2014 Chrysler Town and Country we'll be doing a test fit on the Glacier Cable Smooth Tire Chains. Part number PW1042. That's tire size 225/65 R17. These Glacier Tire Chains are SAE class S chains. They're designed for vehicles with limited wheel well clearance. Their low profile design is going to give you a smother ride than most chains.
They feature steel rollers on the cross cables so it's going to give you adequate traction on light snow and ice. The lather pattern is very effective for starts and stops. It's going to give you the bite you need to get going. They have a maximum speed rating of 30 miles per hour and they come in quantity of two. Let's go ahead and show you how easy is they are to get installed. We're going to be putting tire chains in the front tires of our Town and Country because it is front wheel drive. To begin our test fit it's a good idea to go ahead and lay your chain out and make sure there's no kinks, twists or any tangles in it.
You also want to be sure that the hooks here, the open side is facing up. Our tires actually are going to be on this side. Let's go ahead and drape our chain over our tire. You want to be sure that it's even on both sides. Good way to check that is to grab the cable here and feel around the back and make sure it's about the same. We'll hook up the back first.
Here behind our tire what we need to do is take our stoppers here and our inaudible 00:01:21 and connect them together. We don't want to connect too many of them together because then we won't be able to connect the front side evenly. Let's go ahead and start by connecting four and then we'll move on to the front. We'll do the exact same thing here only this time we'll connect as many as we can together. It's like we'll be able to get to third one and then we can repeat the same process for the other side. Once you get both sides done a manufacturer does recommend using a rubber adjuster. What this is going to do it's going to help keep tension on your cable chain around your tire while we're on the road.
They are very easy to install. You can pick up two at part number PW105. Make sure that the hook is facing away from our tire. We'll hook the top then we'll go directly across and then just work our way around. You can see how it's already started to tighten up the chain. Once we've got it hooked up it is a good idea to drive a short distance, stop, get out, check to see if you need to make any adjustments. That's going to complete out test fit on the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains, part number PW1042, on our 2014 Chrysler Town and Country.
