(14 May 1978) In the fiftieth Cup Final to be played at Wembley, Arsenal met Ipswich. For the Suffolk Club it was their first time in the Cup Final. ® Before the match Arsenal were considered the favourites, but once play got underway, Ipswich took command of the game. At half-time there was no score. After some near misses by Ipswich, the only goal of the match was scored by their No 7, Roger Osborne, late in the second half. ® Captain Mick Mills received the FA Cup from HRH Princess Alexandra.
