Brigadier General Cornelius Jansen Bornman speaks to us about his distinguished career in the South African Army. He started in 1965 in the Army Gymnasium. Sixteen years were in command positions - the last as Commanding General – Special Forces Brigade (1995-1999). He also completed various staff courses which are rated higher than an MBA by me.
In this episode, the first of many, he gives us a brief overview of his career starting at the Army Gymnasium before discussing the art of Generalship. He talks of the Malayan Principles as well as the best historical Generals, in his opinion. Indeed, a fascinating conversation with a senior officer.
