The European Commission’s Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy is responsible for the implementation of cohesion policy. The main aim of cohesion policy is to ensure that “nobody in the EU is left behind”. Being connected is a key condition and broadband is the physical means to boost competitiveness in European regions. DG REGIO is taking action to support broadband roll-out and to make all EU regions equipped for the future.
