Madurai (Tamil Nadu), May 01 (ANI): The famous, centuries-old fishing festival celebrated at Thiruvathavur in Madurai on May 01. Flouting the COVID SOPs, hundreds of people from five villages gathered in large numbers to celebrate the annual festival. With no mask, no social distancing, they were seen celebrating the festival. The fish that are caught during the festival are cooked and offered to the deity for better harvest and health. (NS)
