The government of India has decided to suspend all flights from the United Kingdom. The decision was taken after the opposition asked the Centre to take pre-emptive actions. This after a new strain of COVID has come to light in the United Kingdom. The decision will be implemented from tomorrow till Dec 31st.
As a measure of precaution, the GOI has also added that those who are already on transit flights, will have to take a mandatory RT-PCR test on arrival. India is joining a host of other nations in suspending flights from the United Kingdom. The new strain of COVID is said to be 70% more transmissible in comparison to the older strain.
