Is the Saxdor 400 GTC the best boat Saxdor has ever built? Not only that, is it the boat to take Axopar’s crown in this popular sector?
Jack Haines gives you a walkthrough tour and review of the Saxdorr 400 GTC after its global launch at the 2024 Düsseldorf Boat Show.
The 400 GTC is based on the T-top GTO, which was launched last year but it has a fully enclosed wheelhouse. The clever thing about the design is that there are no side decks so the wheelhouse can stretch to the full beam of the boat.
Access forward is via a door in the windscreen. Drop-down balconies also connect the wheelhouse to the aft deck with access out to them via sliding doors in the saloon. It’s a flexible layout that be tuned easily to weather conditions.
There is a double cabin forward with a separate bathroom and a surprisingly spacious cabin aft, neatly integrated below the aft sun pad and accessed via a hatch beneath the dinette seat.
With twin Mercury engine options of 350hp or 400hp, the Saxdorr 400 GTC is capable of nearly 50 knots.
