PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) was developed in 1984 by Kary Mullis and since then it became the most essential technique in most laboratories. PCR generate incredible amounts of DNA material from just little starting content. One variant of PCR, the qPCR is at the time widely used to detect infections such as with SARS-CoV-2 (novel Corona virus).
