Hi, today we do a quick setup on this beautiful Epi Peter Frampton Les Paul Custom Pro. Overall, this is a really nice looking and playing guitar. Three humbuckers with an interesting wiring scheme. (PS: I may have over-complicated the switching description at 5:30. Another way to describe it is it's wired like a normal 2-pickup LP with a single Volume/Tone control for the neck and bridge pickups. The middle pickup has its own Vol/Tone giving the ability to "blend" it into any of the switch positions, ie, it operates independently of the neck/bridge system.)
The fully bound neck and body, along with an ebony fretboard and large neck inlays all look sweet. The only downside I've found is the ebony board means the fret ends sometimes tend to protrude a bit, meaning you may need to file and round the frets ends on some. Weight is nice at around 7.5 pounds.
These tend to set up and play very nicely. Of course, everyone should expect the quality won't stack up to a Gibson but this is among a higher class from Epiphone. They only made 900 units of this guitar. I generally sell them around $1200 (as of 2023). I have one right now for sale but it's currently not on Reverb or eBay as I'm getting over a back injury. Any Frampton fan will probably be happy with one of these. cheers
