All popular Lord Shiva portrait is often shown with a snake wrapped around the neck three times and looking towards His right side. There are several snakes in different parts of the body. We are very familiar with the snakes in the representations of Lord Shiva, but most of us are not aware of the significance of snake wrapped around the neck.
