Students Against Secrecy, a coalition of student organisations at the University of Cape Town are calling on all UCT students and staff to join civil society in a march to Parliament on Saturday, 17 September, to hand over a memorandum calling on government to revise the Protection of Information Bill. This march is being organised by the Right 2 Know campaign, which is mobilising people from the many different sectors of society that oppose the passage of this bill in its current form.
Marchers to begin gathering at 10h30 in Keizergracht Street, near Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
The march is expected to end at Parliament at about 13h00. Four Jammie Shuttles marked "Right to Know Campaign" will leave from UCT's Lower Campus at 10h30 sharp.
