US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis arrived in Kabul this morning onboard an Army helicopter for an unannounced visit to Afghanistan to discuss the ongoing war against the Taliban. Mattis arrived in the war-torn city on board a US Army helicopter sitting behind a crew member manning a mini-gun, right, in case the aircraft came under attack as it approached the airport. President Donald Trump is under increased pressure to increase the number of US troops on the ground in order to support local forces in their battle against the Taliban.
