History:
The Charioteer was based on the Centurion tank chassis and was developed during the post-World War II era.
Origin: The Charioteer was developed in the early 1950s as a response to the need for a tank destroyer with a more powerful gun and better mobility than earlier designs. It was based on the Centurion tank, which was a successful British main battle tank.
Armament: The Charioteer was armed with a 20-pounder (84mm) anti-tank gun, which was capable of penetrating the armor of most contemporary tanks. This made it an effective tank destroyer.
Mobility: The tank was powered by a Rolls-Royce Meteor engine, which gave it good mobility and speed, allowing it to quickly reposition on the battlefield.
