The LMS Gene Home was a Pop-Up Shop in Westfield London that was created for one week only in October 2023. Working with local black artists including Michael McMillan, Yasmin Nicholas and renowned Notting Hill Carnival legends Wally Bent and Terrortone. The Gene Home, by the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Medical Sciences, also based in White City, explored the effects of migration on health and medicine and forged links between communities and scientists. Exhibitions explored the research being carried out on Diabetes, Heart Disease, Prostate Cancer and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and aimed to spark conversation between scientists and local London communities and build bridges towards a shared trust and vision for future health.
