TRANSCRIPT
Hi, my name is Charlotte. I'm the head nurse here at the Mayhew Vet Clinic. I'm here with Bowie today and we are going to show you how to apply a spot on flea treatment.
So, we highly recommend that you do get your flea and worming treatment from a vet to get a prescription product as we find these are more effective and you also get the expert advice to know that the product you are using is safe and is going to be suitable for your pet.
So we are going to pop this spot on treatment today on for Bowie. We are going to pop it on just here in between the shoulder blades and it's really important to part the fur so that the product is actually being applied onto the skin, and the reason that we put it between the shoulder blades is so that she is not able to reach there to lick it off, because we don't want her licking that.
So to open the pipette, we just take the lid off and then we'll push the pipette lid onto it, and then that pulls the little pin that's keeping the pipette sealed closed. Then we just carefully part the fur and then we'll apply the product in a couple of spots just between her shoulder blades, there, nice and close contact with the skin so that's going to get nicely absorbed for her.
Ok and that's all done, well done Bowie. Do you want a treat for being such a brave girl? Yes. Here you go, good girl.
And it's really a good idea to give your dog or cat a treat after you've had to do any kind of procedure with them just so they associate it with being a positive experience.
You're such a good girl, what lovely kisses.
