Software Engineer / Security Champion @ SAP Concur,
With more than eighteen years of experience in the technology field with the US Government, Rafael is currently a software application developer at SAP Concur, since 2018, supporting government clients using a wide variety of technologies and systems. Rafael is a Security advocate who plays ahead of the game identifying potential issues and vulnerabilities. Rafael enjoys evolving his knowledge and skills with new technologies.

He will show the outcomes of deploying a vulnerable web application using a typical default deployment vs a hardened one, and how we should be thinking on plan B, in terms of security, when we deploy an application to production.

Cris founded Rhythmic Technologies in 2007 to help growing businesses safely and effectively leverage leading-edge technologies. As CEO, he is responsible for the strategic direction of the company, continually honing the direction to keep up with its mission of always being at the leading edge. Before founding Rhythmic, Cris was responsible for project management and business development at Claraview, where his work in securing projects worth over $50 million helped key the company’s acquisition by Teradata.

Prior to that, he ran a web hosting and development consultancy in Ohio that specialized in eCommerce. Cris and his wife Ashleigh live in Loudoun County with their three sons.

He will be talking about using Terraform to drive security automation in AWS!
