This moving aria, sung by Moldovan soprano Olga Busuioc, originally stems from Arrigo Boito's opera Mefistofele. For Dutch National Opera's season-opening production FAUST [working title], a poetic exploration of new landscapes in music theatre, it was recomposed by the British composer Grace-Evangeline Mason.
