A fresh row has erupted in Karnataka after 5 acres of land were approved at an aerospace park near Bengaluru to a trust run by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's family and chaired by his son Rahul, in March 2024. The BJP has questioned the grant of a Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) site, with party's IT cell head Amit Malviya calling it "misuse of power" and "nepotism".
"This is all about misuse of power, nepotism, and conflict of interest. Mr Kharge must answer," Malviya tweeted.
The 5-acre land was granted under the Schedule Caste (SC) quota to the Siddhartha Vihar Trust, which is run by the Kharge family. It has the Congress chief, his son-in-law and Kalaburagi MP Radhakrishna, and son Rahul Kharge, among other family members, as trustees.
