The “god of the gaps” refers to a way of arguing that treats gaps in scientific knowledge as evidence of God. So, science explains a whole of bunch of things, but where it cannot explain something, we just say, “Well, science cannot explain; therefore, God did it.” This is an argument from ignorance. It’s a fallacious way to argue.
But this is not what’s actually going on with the Christian God! No, we’re not positing a god of the gaps. We are positing God where we have strong, positive evidence for God being the best explanation from the available evidence.
