Unique Mixers' 200-liter Working Capacity Double Planetary Mixer.

The double planetary mixer consists of a mixing vessel with two beaters that rotate on their own axes, while they orbit the vessel on a common axis. The blade profiles used for the double planetary mixer are the rectangular type, the finger blades and the helical blades. This Unique Mixers 200 liters working capacity Double Planetary Mixer is equipped with Helical blades with a bottom connecting bar. For circulation of heating or cooling media, the mixer bowl is jacketed. The mixer can be built for operation under full vacuum.

The material to be mixed is charged into the cylindrical vessel with flat bottom. A cylindrical cover for the bowl is located underneath the drive mechanism and is provided with nozzles, liquid addition arrangements, and viewing ports.

During the mixing operation, the blades continuously revolve around the periphery directing the material from the vessel wall to the centre. After one revolution the blades have passed through the entire vessel, after three revolutions most materials have been mixed and after only 36 revolutions, the blades have contacted virtually the entire batch. The Double Planetary Mixer Can be used for viscosities up to 5 million centipoises and more.

The product is discharged after mixing by manually scooping the material from the bowl. Hydraulically powered automatic discharge systems that force the material out through the discharge valve are available for highly viscous materials.

A major benefit of this vertical-style mixer is that the shaft seals do not come directly into contact with the process material. The material fill levels in the double planetary mixer can be as low as 20 percent to a maximum of 85 percent of the total bowl volume due to the vertical setup of the mixer.

The Double Planetary Mixer is commonly used for applications such as Adhesives, Battery Pastes, Dental Composites, Epoxies, Hot Melts, Metallic Slurries, Polymers, Propellants, Sealants, Silicones, and many high-viscosity mixes.
