This guide is going to cover everything you need to know about caves in Barotrauma. The list will cover what you can find in the caves, whats dangerous and the best way to stay alive when diving into them.

Ice Cave | (00:00)
The first set of caves you are most likely to encounter are the ice caves. These contain minimal decoration and a few ice spikes dotted around. Be careful as these can damage your character if you get too close.

Rock Cave | (01:13)
The rock cave as the name suggests is mostly rocky outcrops, however this cave spews out toxic gas from its open vents. This will rapidly decrease your oxygen supply if you are within its cloud.

Crystal Cave | (01:46)
The Crystal caves contain lots of sharp crystals that can damage your character if you get too close, be sure to take a plasma cutter to remove any in your path.

Mushroom Cave | (02:11)
In this cave explosive mushrooms can cause burning and blunt force damage to your character if you get too close to the mushrooms.

Forest Cave | (03:21)
The forest cave contains lots of branches and undergrowth that slows down your swim speed. Make sure to bring a cargo scooter to be able to navigate this cave quickly.

Bioluminescent Cave | (03:56)
The Bioluminescent or hallucinogenic cave, contains some of the brightest flora in Barotrauma, this cave gives your character a special affliction hallucination, expect screen warping and other strange effects.

Abyssal Islands | (04:43)
Down in the Abyss, Abyssal islands can spawn, with many different hazards and alien resources that you will need to get the advanced weapons and items in the game.
