On the podcast today we are talking about a couple of fun and creative resources that can help you spread some Hungarian holiday cheer!
We have talked about many ways to celebrate Christmas with Hungarian style during this special Icipici series on the Hungarian living podcast. Tasting Hungarian food, Hearing Hungarian language, learning about Hungarian history or seeing Hungarian folkart patterns can spark curiosity and questions about heritage. You don’t have to know any of these things perfectly yourself to encourage others! When you share something that interests you, your excitement might draw others in. And from there you might find that it leads to an interest and from there you might find that someone becomes enthusiastic about discovering more.
I have two creative ideas to share today:
One to instructions on how to make greeting cards and one to a few coloring pages. Have fun and enjoy spreading Hungarian Christmas cheer!
"Make your own Hungarian Christmas Cards" ([ Ссылка ]) is a great activity for all ages and does not need to be limited to using Hungarian. Many people have several different ethnic backgrounds and this is a great way to learn about ALL of them!
Below you can download the new Hungarian Christmas coloring pages for 2022. They are the work of Piroska, who lives in Budapest.
You can print these pages and color them with crayons, colored pencils or washable markers. The circles are much easier to color if you leave the sheet whole.
People of all ages love coloring sessions. Print these pages for a fun and relaxing activity and to help your friends and family become familiar with Hungarian folk art.
Color your heart out and then cut out your colored circles and glue them onto colorful construction paper that is just a bit larger. Don’t forget to use a paper punch for the hole at the top! Use yarn to hang them on the Christmas tree. You can also copy the delightful designs and use them for other creative projects. We would love to see what you come up with!
