You can construct two mini albums in 30 minutes or less. (It took me about 30 minutes to film and make adjustments for clarity. Yours should go faster.) This tutorial will show you how to assemble two book bases. You add your own mats and/or pockets to decorate them.
Supplies:
4 sheets cardstock
paper trimmer
score board and tool
corner rounder
glue
The measurements are simple enough that you can easily use a ruler to guide the cutting and scoring process. The corner rounder is also optional. Make sure your cardstock is sturdy, but folds without cracking.
I chose to score the pages before cutting them in half to streamline the project. You can cut your pages first if you want to spend more time on a more precise result that doesn't need fine tuning at the end.
This tutorial is inspired by Lyric Lover's tutorial inspired by Laura Denison's "stack the deck" binding method, which uses pages in staggered sizes that are scored to create a nesting channel. Stacking these creates the spine. That's right, no hinges or numerous accordion folds to add pages.
After scoring and creasing the pages well, you will glue the smaller spine to the larger channel to build the book. It's hard to see the crease lines on video, but it's a pretty forgiving project. When they're loaded up with keepsakes, any little crooked areas fade away.
Glue and burnish well to make sure everything is secure. In an upcoming video, I'll show some decorating options. The mini books become much sturdier with the addition of mats.
