Six people were critically injured after a 33-seater bus rammed a lorry near Blue Post Hotel along the Nairobi-Nyeri Highway.Two of the survivors who are recuperating at Thika Level 5 said the driver was overtaking a probox some few meters from Thika River,when he lost control.
They explained that once the driver realized that he could not manage he returned to his lane only to find a stationary lorry that was being towed by a breakdown, he rammed it injuring six passengers critically. The injured are currently recuperating at Thika level 5 hospital with multiple injuries and fractures including the driver of the bus who is in the Intensive Care Unit. One patient was transferred to Coptic hospital based on a request by the family. The Matuu bound bus belonging to Damacom Bus company and other vehicles that ply the route to Garissa usually avoids passing through thika town due to heavy traffic. Instead they divert from the Thika Nyeri highway through Delmonte Fram to join the Thika garissa Highway at Kenya leather factory,avoiding the jam by over 6
