Jodie Van Der Velden began her career in Human Resource management, then moved into the non-profit sector after seven years where she managed community organisations. After the arrival of her daughters, Jodie studied early childhood education and modern history. In 2005 Jodie established Josophan's Fine Chocolates in the village of Leura, Blue Mountains, Australia, and now manages two chocolate stores, a cafe, and there is a gingerbread house on the horizon! Jodie is a fierce advocate of fair and ethical trade in the chocolate and business arena.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
