KS3 project for year 8 studenst, focusing on metal casting and understanding how to create a mold. The pendant itself is made from molten pewter using a gas forge, in which it is poured into an MDF mold. Acrylic inserts can be used to inbed a design into the pendant, if so the students choose.
Great exercise to understand the flow of the molten pewter material and has a big emphasis on proper health and safety procedures.
