Optics Lab 101: In this video I'll be showing you how to quickly check what wave plates you have!
Here are a couple of videos that I found useful
This one has a nice animation of linear, circular, and elliptical polarized light

This one illustrate the effects of multiple wave plates combine (no cube)

For the physics just look up "polarization of light". There are many videos teaching you physics. Just find one that fits you.
For photographers:
Your "variable ND filter" is a lie. It's actually made of two half wave plates. Check out this video to see how two half-wave plates manipulate light. Stick around til the end to see what a REAL variable ND filter looks like!

HI, I'M NUTSINEE.
I'm a final year physics PhD student at The Australian National University. My thesis involves building a squeezed light system at the LIGO Hanford site and developing squeezed light technology for the future generations ground-based gravitational-wave detectors.
