At approximately 2:44 PM, 911 received reports of a vehicle-pedestrian collision at the location mentioned above.
Upon arrival, first responders found a 4 year old child who had been struck by a truck.
Immediate medical assistance was provided, and a helicopter was requested to transport the child to a trauma center.
Shortly thereafter, the helicopter arrived, and the child was airlifted due to multiple traumatic injuries.
The trucks driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the sheriff’s deputies.
Currently, it is believed that drugs or alcohol did not play a role in this incident.
The sheriff’s department is conducting an investigation into the accident.
