So the 338 Winchester Magnum is sort of the standard in 338s. And that one is, uh, sort of like the 300 Win Mag. It's a little bit shorter, but it's the same case - that's the belted Magnum case from H&H the 375 straightened out the walls, pushed it back a little bit to make it a 30-06 length case.
So it fits in standard actions. And push the, the shoulder forward quite a bit on it. So it has a pretty short neck, cetera, et cetera. So the, uh, 338 Win Mag has been the standard since the fifties. And it is considered to be just about the optimum elk cartridge out there. Real good for moose, a lot of Alaskans like it for bear as well.
And it's pretty successful in Africa.
