In June 2008 young people from Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Germany and the US met in the southern Transsilvanian town Fagaras to clean up the synagoge. This building has been in use as public toilet and shelter for homeless people before.
In the end of the week a concert was held within this building and cultural life was brought back.
The project was planned and supported by the German association TransRiver, the Robert Bosch Foundation, the Doris Wuppermann Foundation, the townhall Fagaras and the Jewish community from Brasov.
