T’ai Chi means "Supreme Ultimate" and is the best expression of movement and grace that can be done for health and relaxation. T’ai Chi Ch’uan is a specific application of T’ai Chi, done through a series of movements. Here we see the first few movements of one style of T’ai Chi Ch’uan, known as the Yang Style – Short Form. They are:
· Starting posture
· Beginning position
· Left hand ward off
· Right hand ward off
· Grasp the birds tail (roll back and press)
· Grasp the birds tail (push)
· Single Whip
· Lift hands

Dr. Kurt Beil is a Naturopathic Doctor and Licensed Acupuncturist with a Masters in Public Health (ND, LAc, MPH).
He is a part-time faculty member at Portland Community College, regularly teaching HE 242: Stress and Human Health. He is also a T'ai Chi practitioner and in these videos, he illustrates basic movements and techniques for relaxation and stress reduction.
