Case Study - Binta Uba Shehu was trained as a mediator and joined the Women Mediators Network in Bauchi State as part of the Programme on Women, Peace and Security in Nigeria. She facilitated peer-to-peer training of 20 women in Ningi Local Government Area, and the traditional chiefs, decided to inaugurate those women as members of the Zauren Sulhu council - the traditional platform for peace and security, which uses alternative methods for mediation and conflict resolution.
